Working in Intergenerational Teams
Understand your colleagues’ work and communication styles across generations. This training supports effective collaboration in intergenerational teams.
As people work longer than ever before, workplaces are becoming increasingly intergenerational. In many organisations, up to four generations are now represented, each bringing different experiences, skills, and perspectives. This intensive training supports participants in better understanding differences in work and communication styles and in shaping constructive collaboration within intergenerational teams.
Baby Boomers, Generation X, Y or Z, digital natives—many terms are used to describe the different generations in today’s workforce. But what do these labels actually mean, and what assumptions and perceptions are associated with them? Different generations often bring distinct values, expectations, and ways of working, which may be reflected in attitudes towards teamwork, hierarchy, feedback, and the use of analogue versus digital communication.
Working in intergenerational teams offers significant opportunities, but it can also present challenges. Differing perspectives and needs may lead to misunderstandings if they are not recognised and addressed consciously. At the same time, combining experience, new viewpoints, and diverse competencies holds great potential for team and organisational success.
This training is designed for anyone who works in or leads intergenerational teams. Participants deepen their understanding of the values, work styles, and communication approaches of different generations and develop strategies for successful collaboration. The goal is to strengthen intergenerational cooperation, foster mutual understanding, and ensure sustainable team success.
